Transistor

The transistor is an electronic component which is the ability and perform a task for doing in a circuit for switching and amplification of electronic gadgets and circuits.

Switching

One of the main tasks of the transistor is for switching mean therefore, On/OFF circuits several times in mili seconds . This switching task continuing until backside signals is coming to the circuit to stop the switching. The switching circuits involving some other electronic components like active and passive components,diode, resistors, capacitors , and Thyristers to perform the task and work.

Amplification

AMPLIFICATION SIGNALS

Transistor is also ability to boost or amplifying the weak signals you can see in image blow here.

 

How many leg or terminals in transistors?

Transistor has three legs that name is:

Emitter

This is the ability for triggering or activate the transistor.

Base

This is the positive terminals lead.

Collector

This is the negative power terminals lead.

 

Is transistor semiconductor ?

yes, it is a semiconductor device also ,that means therefore inside material using in manufacturing process that is Germanium and silicon.

      1. WILLIAM SHOCKLEY.

The Types of Transistor have categorize in General Two ways 

 

    1. BJT(bipolar junction Transistor
    2. FET( field affect Transistor)

BJT have under sub categories called NPN and PNP. mansion in figure

And FET have under so many Category like FET MOSFED, DEPLETION AND ENHANCEMENT of N-channels and P-chanals, and so on.

BJT(field affect Transistor).

These transistor have perform different task and ability used by function and circuits.

Fet have ability voltage control transistor and this device have three terminals or legs called.

      1. GATE
      2. DRAIN
      3. SOURCE

Gate terminals control to flow through current between the source to drain, Gate is also be called trigger, and types of transistor like FET have also called Unipolar components , and have high incoming impedance like (megga ohm) Resistance.

Advantages of Transistor.

    1. Small size.
    2. Low cost Availability in relevant markets.
    3. operating voltage is low and much more safety.
    4. no power consumption.
